Biography
Yash Chopra was an Indian film director and producer. He began his career assisting his brother B. R. Chopra and made his directorial debut with Dhool Ka Phool (1959). In 1970 he founded the production company Yash Raj Films.
Chopra directed films including Deewaar (1975), Darr (1993), Dil To Pagal Hai (1997), Veer-Zaara (2004) and Jab Tak Hai Jaan (2012). He produced Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), directed by his son Aditya Chopra. He died on 21 October 2012 in Mumbai.
