Biography
Yasushi Shimamura is a Japanese film editor, also credited as Taiji Shimamura and Cutman Shimaboo. He trained at the Yokohama Institute of Film and Broadcasting (now part of Japan Film University) and began his career in the early 1990s.
Shimamura has edited numerous films directed by Takashi Miike. His credits include Audition (1999), Dead or Alive (1999), Ichi the Killer (2001), Visitor Q (2001), The Happiness of the Katakuris (2002), Gozu (2003), One Missed Call (2003), Three... Extremes (2004) and Sukiyaki Western Django (2007).
