Biography
Yu Wei-Yen (also credited as Wei-yen Yu or Yu Weiyan) was a Taiwanese film producer, production manager and production designer. He worked extensively with director Edward Yang, serving as producer and production designer on A Brighter Summer Day (1991). He later produced A Confucian Confusion (1994) and Mahjong (1996), and was associate producer and production manager on Yi Yi (2000).
He also directed Moonlight Boy (1993) and Sextasy (2017), and appeared in small acting roles, including as an interrogator in A Brighter Summer Day. Yu died on 20 June 2023 in Taiwan.
