Biography
Yuko Takeuchi was a Japanese actress. She made her film debut in 1998 and gained early recognition for her role as Tomoko Oishi in the horror film Ring (1998).
Takeuchi's breakthrough came with the lead role in the NHK Asadora series Asuka (1999). She went on to star in numerous television dramas and films, including Pride (2004), Be with You (2004), FlashForward (2009), Creepy (2016) and Miss Sherlock (2018). Her performances in Yomigaeri (2003), Be with You (2004) and Spring Snow (2005) earned her consecutive Japan Academy Prize awards for best actress.
Takeuchi was born on 1 April 1980 in Saitama Prefecture, Japan, and died on 27 September 2020 in Tokyo.
