Biography
Zabou Breitman, also credited as Zabou or Isabelle Breitman, is a French actress, director and screenwriter. Born in Paris in 1959, she is the daughter of screenwriter and actor Jean-Claude Deret and actress Céline Léger. She began appearing in films and television as a child and has worked extensively in cinema, television and theatre since the early 1980s.
Breitman is known for roles in films including Banzaï (1983), Kitchen with Apartment (1993), The First Day of the Rest of Your Life (2008) and He Even Has Your Eyes (2017). She voiced Maman in the animated feature Titeuf (2011). As a director she made her debut with Se souvenir des belles choses (2001), which received a César Award for Best First Film. She has also directed No and Me (2010) and co-directed The Swallows of Kabul (2019). She has received four Molière Awards for her stage work.
