Biography
Zaide Silvia Gutiérrez is a Mexican actress who works in film, television and theatre. Her breakthrough role was as Rosa in the 1983 film El Norte.
She studied dramatic literature and theatre at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), graduating with highest honours. She has also undertaken graduate work in theatre directing at Columbia University. Gutiérrez has appeared in more than 35 feature films, including El Patrullero (1991) and Bordertown (2007), and in numerous telenovelas such as ¡Vivan los niños! (2002) and Madre sólo hay dos (2021). She also acts in and directs theatre productions.
Gutiérrez has received Ariel Award nominations for her film work and other awards including Diosas de Plata.
