Biography
Zuhal Gencer Erkaya is a Turkish actress. She was born on 13 July 1961 in Istanbul and trained at the Tiyatro Eğitim Stüdyosu. In 1984 she co-founded the Taner Barlas Mim Tiyatrosu with Taner Barlas and five others, working there for five years. She later helped establish the Bakırköy Belediye Tiyatroları and, in 1997, the Kocaeli Şehir Tiyatrosu, where she continues to perform.
Her screen credits include the role of Aslı in Block C (1994), Nazan in Nuri Bilge Ceylan’s Distant (2002) and Feride in Are We Ok? (2013). She is also known for playing İnci in the television series Şaşıfelek Çıkmazı (1996–2001). Gencer has appeared in numerous films and series and maintains an active stage career.
