Biography
Zvonka Makuc is a Slovenian costume designer. She trained at the Šola za oblikovanje in Ljubljana and studied under the costume designer Alenka Bartl. She began her career in fashion journalism and consulting before moving into film, television and theatre.
Makuc’s first feature credit was Sreča na vrvici (1977). She has worked on numerous Slovenian films and international co-productions, including Veter v mreži (1989), No Man's Land (2001) and Piran-Pirano (2010). She is noted for her historical costumes and for designing the costumes on the Oscar-winning film No Man's Land.
In 1989 she received the Metod Badjure award for Veter v mreži. In 2024 she was awarded the Milke in Metoda Badjure lifetime achievement award for her contribution to Slovenian film, television and theatre.
