Biography
A.J. Catoline is a picture editor known for his work on the Apple TV+ series Ted Lasso (2020–). He shared editing duties with Melissa McCoy on the comedy, which earned him a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing for a Comedy Series in 2021 for the episode “The Hope That Kills You”, along with further Emmy nominations.
Catoline grew up in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and attended the American School in Paris during high school. He graduated from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts with a degree in dramatic writing in 1992 and later completed USC’s Master of Professional Writing Program. His earlier credits include editing on series such as Brockmire (2017), Speechless (2017–2018) and Black Jesus (2015), as well as unscripted and reality programmes. He is a member of the American Cinema Editors and serves on the board of the Motion Picture Editors Guild, for which he contributes to CineMontage magazine.
