Biography
Aaron Stell (26 March 1911 – 7 January 1996) was an American film editor. Born in Pennsylvania, he graduated from Los Angeles High School and began working in the film industry in the late 1920s before starting his editing career at Columbia Pictures in 1943.
He accumulated over one hundred feature film credits and extensive television work. Stell is best known for editing Touch of Evil (1958), To Kill a Mockingbird (1962) and Silent Running (1972). He was nominated for an American Cinema Editors Eddie Award for To Kill a Mockingbird and shared the organisation’s Career Achievement Award in 1996. He also directed the feature The Gallant One (1964).
