Biography
Adam Kay is a British writer, author, comedian and former doctor. Born Adam Richard Kay on 12 June 1980 in Brighton, England, he studied medicine at Imperial College London and worked as a junior doctor in the NHS from 2004 to 2010, specialising in obstetrics and gynaecology.
He is the author of the memoir This Is Going to Hurt (2017). Kay created and wrote the 2022 BBC One series adaptation of the same name, starring Ben Whishaw, and won a BAFTA for his writing. His other television writing credits include Crims (2015), Mrs. Brown's Boys and Mitchell and Webb.
