Biography
Adam McNamara is a Scottish actor. Born in Dundee, he trained at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (now the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland), graduating in 2010. He previously served in the police for seven years before pursuing acting.
McNamara has appeared in television series including Vikings (2013) as Thorhall, Black Mirror (2011) as Marksman Harris, Outlander (2014) as John Murray, Shetland (2013) as Lewis Mitchell and Slow Horses (2022) as Valentine. Film credits include Bitter Harvest (2017) as Dmitri and The Incomer (2026) as Tam. He has also worked in stage productions.
