Biography

Adolfo Franci (1895–1954) was an Italian screenwriter. Born in Florence, he worked as a film critic for the weekly L'Illustrazione Italiana before beginning screenwriting in 1942.

He collaborated frequently with director Vittorio De Sica on neorealist films. His credits include The Children Are Watching Us (1943), Shoeshine (1946), for which he shared an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay, Bicycle Thieves (1948) and Miracle in Milan (1951). He shared a Nastro d'Argento for Best Screenplay for Bicycle Thieves.

Franci died in Rome on 31 January 1954.
