Biography
Adrian Scott was an American screenwriter and film producer. He began his career writing for magazines before moving to Hollywood in 1939, where he worked as a screenwriter on films including Mr. Lucky (1943).
At RKO, Scott produced several films directed by Edward Dmytryk, including Murder, My Sweet (1944), Cornered (1945) and Crossfire (1947). The latter, which addressed anti-Semitism, received an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture. He also produced The Boy with Green Hair (1948).
Scott was one of the Hollywood Ten. He refused to testify before the House Un-American Activities Committee in 1947, was convicted of contempt of Congress, served a prison sentence and was subsequently blacklisted.
