Biography
Ahd Kamel, also credited as Ahd Hassan Kamel or عهد حسن كامل, is a Saudi Arabian actress and filmmaker. Born on 14 November 1980 in Riyadh, she grew up in Saudi Arabia and moved to New York City in 1998. She earned a BFA in Animation & Communication from Parsons School of Design in 2004, a directing degree from the New York Film Academy in 2005, and studied acting at the William Esper Studio.
Kamel is known for her role as Ms. Hussa in the 2012 film Wadjda, as Fatima Asif in the 2018 BBC Two series Collateral, as Leila Maloof in the 2022 film All the Old Knives, and for voicing Um Al Duwais in the 2013 film Djinn. She has also written and directed short films including Sanctity (2013) and her feature debut My Driver and I (2024).
