Biography
Aja Naomi King is an American actress. She received a BFA in acting from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and an MFA from Yale University's School of Drama in 2010.
King began her career with guest roles in series including Blue Bloods (2010) and Person of Interest (2011), followed by a lead role in the short-lived Emily Owens, M.D. (2012–2013). She gained wider recognition as Michaela Pratt in the ABC series How to Get Away with Murder (2014–2020).
Her film work includes Four (2013), The Birth of a Nation (2016) as Cherry, and The Upside (2019) as Latrice. In 2023 she appeared as Harriet Sloane in the Apple TV+ series Lessons in Chemistry, earning a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie.
