Biography
Al Clark is an Australian film producer. Born in Huelva, Spain, he began his career as a journalist at the London magazine Time Out before becoming publicity director at Virgin Records. He later worked as head of production for Virgin's film division.
After moving to Australia, Clark produced The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert (1994), directed by Stephan Elliott. His other producing credits include Eye of the Beholder (1999), Siam Sunset (1999), The Hard Word (2002), Red Hill (2010) and Swinging Safari (2018). He served as executive producer on Chopper (2000) and Gothic (1987), among others.
Clark has written two books, Raymond Chandler in Hollywood and Making Priscilla (also known as The Lavender Bus). He received the AACTA Raymond Longford Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013 and has served on the boards of the Australian Film Commission and Screen Australia.
