Biography
Alaa Chouchnieh is a Lebanese-Palestinian actor. He played the role of Aspro in the 2018 Lebanese drama film Capernaum, directed by Nadine Labaki.
Chouchnieh was born in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. He grew up in Yemen before moving to Beirut during the Yemeni war in 1990. He holds dual Palestinian and Lebanese nationality. After limited schooling at a UNRWA school in Lebanon, he became involved with a political party, worked as a personal guard, and was later imprisoned for five years. In 2018 he opened a food and beverage kiosk in Ard Jalloul, Beirut.
