Biography
Alan Autry, also credited as Carlos Brown, is an American actor. He was born Carlos Alan Autry Jr. on 31 July 1952 in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Autry played American football before moving into acting. His film debut was in Remember My Name (1978). He appeared in Southern Comfort (1981) as Bowden, Popeye (1980) and At Close Range (1986). He is best known for playing Captain Bubba Skinner in the television series In the Heat of the Night (1988–1995).
Autry later entered politics and served two terms as mayor of Fresno, California, from 2001 to 2009.
