Biography
Alan J. Levitt was an American television writer and producer. He contributed story, teleplay and writing credits to two episodes of the CBS sitcom All in the Family in 1971 and 1972.
Levitt wrote extensively for other series of the period, including 39 episodes of Maude (1972–1974), for which he also served as story editor, as well as episodes of The Courtship of Eddie's Father, Julia, Three's Company and Baretta. He created the short-lived series Miss Winslow and Son (1979). His work on All in the Family earned a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Writing Achievement in Comedy in 1972.
