Biography
Alan Trustman was an American screenwriter. A Harvard-educated lawyer, he left a Boston law firm to write his first screenplay, The Thomas Crown Affair (1968), which starred Steve McQueen.
He followed it with the screenplay for Bullitt (1968), also starring McQueen, and co-wrote They Call Me Mister Tibbs! (1970). Later credits include a story credit on the 1999 remake of The Thomas Crown Affair and the teleplay for an episode of the television series Fallen Angels (1995).
Trustman died in Miami on 5 February 2026, aged 95.
