Biography
Alec Contestabile is a production designer working primarily in television. He studied film at Chapman University. An internship on The Amazing Spider-Man led to work on Mad Men, where he met production designer Jon Carlos.
Contestabile has served as production designer on series including Black Monday (2019–2021), Physical (2021–2023) and Hacks (2022). For the second season of Hacks he oversaw more than 130 sets for the road-trip storyline and received a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Production Design for a Narrative Program (Half-Hour). He has also worked as supervising art director on Our Flag Means Death (2022) and as production designer on films such as Smiley (2012) and The Thinning (2016).
