Biography
Alec Sabin is an English actor born on 28 August 1947 in Yorkshire. He trained at Manchester University after starting in theatre as an assistant stage manager at Nottingham Playhouse, and appeared in productions at the Royal Court Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company.
His television roles include Fawn in the 1979 BBC series Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Ringway in the 1982 Doctor Who serial Earthshock, Colin Lomax in Coronation Street (1972), and appearances in When the Boat Comes In, Bergerac, Call Me Mister and Birds of a Feather. He also played Frederick Fleet in the 1979 television film S.O.S. Titanic.
From the mid-1980s Sabin worked as a radio journalist and BBC World Service announcer before becoming a voice and presentation trainer; he published the book You're On! in 2008.
