Biography
Alejandro Martínez is a Mexican cinematographer. He was born into a family with roots in the Golden Age of Mexican cinema and studied at Escuela Activa de Fotografía in Mexico City and UCLA Extension.
Martínez’s first major credit was the 2006 Mexican horror film KM 31. He has worked on features including Automata (2014), for which he received a Goya Award nomination, and Non Negotiable (2024). His television credits include The Alienist (2018–2020), The Mosquito Coast (2021), House of the Dragon (2022–), and Fallout (2024).
He has received two American Society of Cinematographers Award nominations for his work on House of the Dragon. Martínez is a member of the American Society of Cinematographers and the Mexican Association of Cinematographers, and teaches cinematography at Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica.
