Biography

Alessandra Cardini, also credited as Sandra Cardini, is an Italian costume designer and former actress. Born on 14 March 1950 in Rome, she began her career in the 1970s as an actress, appearing in films including The Tough Ones (1976) and Brothers Till We Die (1977).

She later worked as a costume designer on numerous Italian films, particularly in the crime and comedy genres during the 1970s and 1980s. Her credits include Crime at the Chinese Restaurant (1981), Crime at Porta Romana (1980) and The Monster (1994). Cardini received a David di Donatello nomination for best costume design for her work on Gomorrah (2008).

She has also designed costumes for television series such as Inspector Manara (2011) and Questo nostro amore (2012). Cardini has collaborated with costume designers Piero Tosi and Danilo Donati.
