Biography
Alex Straker is a British television writer based in London. He began his career on BBC continuing dramas, writing episodes of EastEnders (2016–2017) and Holby City (2019–2020). Subsequent credits include The Last Kingdom (2022), The Flatshare (2022), Culprits (2023), Vikings: Valhalla (2024) and The Buccaneers (2025).
He is developing original series as a showrunner and has participated in mentorship schemes including the ITV/Dancing Ledge programme and the Chris Chibnall/Imaginary Friends scheme. He is a former member of the Soho Theatre Young Writer’s programme and a guest lecturer.
