Biography
Alexander Gruszynski is a Polish-American cinematographer. Born in Warsaw, Poland, he trained at the National Film School of Denmark in Copenhagen. He worked on Danish productions in the 1970s and 1980s before moving to the United States in 1985.
Gruszynski is a member of the American Society of Cinematographers. His credits as director of photography include Tremors (1990), The Craft (1996), The Pagemaster (1994), 54 (1998), Dick (1999), Nancy Drew (2007) and episodes of Emily in Paris (2020). He has also directed films including Black Dawn (2005).
Among his awards, Gruszynski won a Bodil Award for cinematography on Jenny (1977) and received an Independent Spirit Award nomination for I Like It Like That (1994).
