Biography
Alexandra Rose, also credited as Alex Rose, is an American film producer and writer. Born on 20 January 1946 in Green Bay, Wisconsin, she studied political science and French at the University of Wisconsin. She began her career in film distribution, including work at Roger Corman's New World Pictures, before forming a production partnership with Tamara Asseyev.
Rose produced Norma Rae (1979) with Asseyev; the film received an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture. Her other producing credits include Drive-In (1976), I Wanna Hold Your Hand (1978), Big Wednesday (1978), Nothing in Common (1986), Overboard (1987), Quigley Down Under (1990), Frankie and Johnny (1991), Exit to Eden (1994) and The Other Sister (1999). She also received story credit on Black Belt Jones (1974) and The Other Sister.
