Biography
Alfred Siegert was a German documentary filmmaker, cinematographer, director and writer. Born in Chemnitz in 1904, he worked as a cinematographer on Leni Riefenstahl’s Olympia Part One: Festival of the Nations (1938) and its companion film.
From the 1930s onwards he directed, wrote and photographed numerous short documentaries on industrial, craft and cultural subjects. His later credits include Volkskunst im Erzgebirge (1952), Spielzeug ernst genommen (1953) and Talsperre des Friedens (1952). He died in 1984.
