Biography
Ali-Asghar Shahbazi was an Iranian actor. Born in Tehran in November 1922, he worked as a bank employee before entering acting late in life.
His screen debut came in the 2007 film Under the Peach Tree. He was cast as Nader's father in Asghar Farhadi's A Separation (2011) after the director saw his earlier performance. Shahbazi also appeared in Five to Five (2013). For his role in A Separation, he shared the Silver Bear for Best Actor at the 2011 Berlin International Film Festival.
Shahbazi died in Tehran on 29 November 2020, aged 98.
