Biography
Ali Shaheed Muhammad is an American composer, DJ and record producer. Born on 11 August 1970 in Brooklyn, New York City, he is best known as a member of the hip hop group A Tribe Called Quest, with whom he released several albums between 1990 and 2016.
In recent years Muhammad has worked frequently with producer Adrian Younge on film and television scores. Their joint credits include the Apple TV+ series Sugar (2024), on which they composed the music, as well as Cross (2024) and Reasonable Doubt (2022–2025).
