Biography
Allan Balter was an American television writer and producer. He was born on 28 August 1925 in Detroit, Michigan, and died on 23 September 1981 in Los Angeles, California.
Balter wrote multiple episodes of Mission: Impossible (1966) and served as a producer on the series. He frequently collaborated with William Read Woodfield; the pair began working together on Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (1964) and later contributed to The Outer Limits (1963), Lost in Space (1965) and other series. Balter received several Primetime Emmy nominations for his writing.
He was married to actress Lana Wood from 1979 to 1980.
