Biography
Álvaro Monje is a Spanish actor and director. Born in Madrid, he began working as a child actor in the mid-1990s, appearing in films such as Love Can Seriously Damage Your Health (1997) and Plenilune (2000).
He is known for his role as Enrique in Sexy Beast (2000), as Benja in the series Cuéntame cómo pasó (from 2001), and as Juan II de Portugal in Isabel (2012–2014). Other credits include The New Years (2024) and a long run in Amar es para siempre (2015–2016). He has also directed the short film Happy Hour (2025).
Monje is the brother of actress Zoraida Monje.
