Biography

Álvaro Morte is a Spanish actor. Born Álvaro Antonio García Pérez on 23 February 1975 in Algeciras, Cádiz, he trained at the Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático de Córdoba, graduating in 1999, and undertook postgraduate studies at the University of Tampere in Finland.

Morte began his career with minor roles in Spanish television series such as Hospital Central. He gained international recognition for his portrayal of The Professor in the series Money Heist (2017–2021). His other credits include Logain Ablar in The Wheel of Time (2021–2023), David Ortiz in Mirage (2018), and Father Sal Tedeschi in Immaculate (2024). He has also appeared in The Anatomy of a Moment (2025) as Adolfo Suárez and made his West End debut in the play Barcelona (2024).
