Biography
Alvin Sapinsley was an American television writer and producer. Born on 23 November 1921 in Providence, Rhode Island, he began writing for live anthology series in the early 1950s after serving in the US Navy during the Second World War.
He contributed scripts to Studio One, Suspense, The Alcoa Hour and The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (1964). Sapinsley wrote twelve episodes of Hawaii Five-O between 1971 and 1977, two episodes of Kojak in 1974, and teleplays for Night Gallery. He also adapted The Scarlet Letter as a four-part miniseries in 1979. Sapinsley died on 14 July 2002 in Woodland Hills, California.
