Biography
Amanda Tapping is a Canadian actress and director. Born on 28 August 1965 in Rochford, Essex, England, she moved to Canada at the age of three and graduated from the University of Windsor School of Dramatic Arts.
She is best known for portraying Samantha Carter in the series Stargate SG-1 (1997–2007) and its spin-offs Stargate Atlantis and Stargate Universe. Tapping has also appeared as the angel Naomi in Supernatural (2012–2018) and has directed multiple episodes of the series, including in seasons 12 and 13. She has directed episodes of other series such as The 100, Anne with an E, and Murder in a Small Town (2024).
Tapping has received several awards for her acting, including Leo Awards and a Saturn Award.
