Biography
Amelie Gillette is an American television writer and former newspaper columnist. She is from New Orleans, Louisiana, and attended New York University, where she wrote for the student newspaper Washington Square News. After graduation she worked as a freelance writer and taught English in Italy.
Gillette wrote the weekly infographic "The Tolerability Index" for The A.V. Club from 2006 to 2016, as well as the column "The Hater". She joined the writing staff of the US version of The Office in its seventh season (2011–2012), serving as a story editor and writing episodes including "Todd Packer" and "Special Project". She has since written for series including Fresh Off the Boat, Black Monday, Mythic Quest and How I Met Your Father, and worked in various producing roles on several of them. She is married to actor Mark Proksch.
