Biography
Amer Hlehel is a Palestinian actor and playwright. Born in 1979, he has appeared in numerous films including Paradise Now (2005) as Jamal, Amreeka (2009) as Samer, The Time That Remains (2009) as Anis, Tel Aviv on Fire (2018) as Nabil, Mediterranean Fever (2022) as Waleed, and The Voice of Hind Rajab (2025) as Mahdi M. Aljamal.
In theatre, Hlehel worked at the Freedom Theatre in Jenin from 2006 and co-founded the independent Palestinian theatre company ShiberHur in Haifa in 2009. He is known for his one-man show Taha, based on the life of Palestinian poet Taha Muhammad Ali, which has toured internationally.
