Biography
Amie Huguenard was a physician’s assistant who appeared in archive footage in the 2005 documentary Grizzly Man, directed by Werner Herzog.
Born in Buffalo, New York, on 23 October 1965, she graduated with distinction from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1996 with a B.S. in molecular cellular developmental biology and later obtained an advanced degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine. She worked as a physician’s assistant in Colorado before moving to California.
Huguenard accompanied Timothy Treadwell on several expeditions to Katmai National Park, Alaska. She and Treadwell were killed by a grizzly bear in the park in October 2003.
