Biography
Amy Hobby is an American film producer. She produced the 2000 film Hamlet, directed by Michael Almereyda and starring Ethan Hawke. She founded Double A Films in 1995 and served as its president until 2002.
Her producing credits include Nadja (1995), Thirteen Conversations About One Thing (2001), Secretary (2002), Lucky Them (2013), Love, Marilyn (2013) and What Happened, Miss Simone? (2015). She has received an Academy Award nomination for Best Documentary Feature and an Emmy Award.
Hobby was Executive Director of the Tribeca Film Institute from 2016 to 2020. She is a co-founder of Distribution Advocates and oversees its Film-ADE Fund, which provides grants for audience-building initiatives in independent film distribution. She holds BA and BFA degrees from Rice University.
