Biography
Amy Holden Jones is an American screenwriter, film director and editor. She studied art history at Wellesley College and film at MIT. She began her career as an editor on films including Hollywood Boulevard (1976), Corvette Summer (1978) and American Boy: A Profile of Steven Prince (1978), later working as assistant to Martin Scorsese on Taxi Driver.
Jones directed The Slumber Party Massacre (1982), Love Letters (1984) and Maid to Order (1987). She wrote the screenplays for Mystic Pizza (1988), Beethoven (1992), Indecent Proposal (1993), The Getaway (1994), The Relic (1997) and The Rich Man's Wife (1996), which she also directed. She created and wrote for the television series The Resident (2018–2023). She is married to cinematographer Michael Chapman.
