Biography
Amy Toomin Straus is a television writer and producer, also credited as Amy Toomin. She holds a BFA from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.
She worked on Friends (1994) as co-producer on 24 episodes of season four and as writer, contributing stories and teleplays including episodes co-written with Jill Condon. She has written on the staff of ten series, including Grounded for Life (2001–2005), and co-written pilots for ABC and CBS as well as a screenplay for Malcolm in the Middle.
Straus has held producing roles on series such as Ned and Stacey, Townies and The Geena Davis Show. She has created branded content for Zillow and is in production on a documentary. She has taught or mentored at Chapman University and Stephens College.
