Biography
Ana Alvargonzález is a Spanish art director, production designer and costume designer. She began her career in 1984 as an assistant to Gerardo Vera and Yvonne Blake, later working as costume designer on films including La noche oscura (1989) and Land and Freedom (1995).
She has served as production designer on numerous Spanish features, including La Celestina (1996), La caja 507 (2002), Pa negre (2010) and Incierta gloria (2017). Her television credits include art direction on 20 episodes of HBO’s Game of Thrones (2015–2017) and production design on ¡García! (2022).
Alvargonzález won the Goya Award for Best Art Direction for Pa negre and received the Premio Ricardo Franco from the Academia de Cine and Festival de Málaga in 2024.
