Biography
Andre Belgrader (also credited as Andrei Belgrader) was a Romanian-born actor and director. Born on 31 March 1946 in Oravița, Romania, he emigrated to the United States in the 1970s. He appeared as Stash in the 1996 film Big Night.
Belgrader directed episodes of television series including Coach (1989–1997), Law & Order: Criminal Intent (2001–2011) and Monk (2002–2009). He also had a substantial stage career, directing productions at the Yale Repertory Theatre and the American Repertory Theater, and taught at institutions including Yale, Juilliard and the University of Southern California. He died on 22 February 2022 in Los Angeles.
