Biography
André Szöts was a Hungarian film producer and director. Born in Budapest in 1937, he studied at the Petőfi Sándor Gimnázium and Columbia University, graduating in 1964. After working in advertising in Paris and New York, he began producing films and commercials in 1971.
Szöts produced Cyrano de Bergerac (1990) and served as executive or co-producer on several other features, including Pierre qui brûle (1991) and Straight from the Heart (1999). He directed the television film Vasárnap Budapesten (1982) and Grizzly II: Revenge (1983). He opened a film production office in Budapest in 1991 and published an autobiographical novel, Az északi szél, in 2003. He died in Budapest in 2006.
