Biography
Andrea Eckert is an Austrian stage and film actress, singer and documentary filmmaker. Born on 17 September 1958 in Vienna, she studied literature in Paris before training for the stage with Dorothea Neff. She has performed leading roles in classical and contemporary plays at theatres including the Burgtheater and Volkstheater in Vienna.
Eckert is known for her film appearance as the Wife on Train in Before Sunrise (1995) and for guest roles in the television series Inspector Rex (Kommissar Rex, 1994). She has also directed documentaries on subjects including Lucia Westerguard, Turhan Bey, and Leopold and Josefine Hawelka. She lives in Vienna.
