Biography
Andrea Gibb is a Scottish screenwriter and former actress. Born in Greenock, she studied drama and sociology at Glasgow University, completed a postgraduate teaching degree at Manchester Polytechnic and trained in acting at the Drama Studio London.
She acted in theatre and television, with a notable role as Deirdre in the series All Creatures Great and Small, before turning to writing. Her screenplays include Dear Frankie (2004), Nina's Heavenly Delights (2006), Swallows and Amazons (2016) and Elizabeth Is Missing (2019). She has written episodes of Call the Midwife (2017–2021) and received BAFTA nominations for her work.
