Biography
Andrea Tidona is an Italian actor and voice actor. Born on 30 November 1951 in Modica, Ragusa, he trained at the Accademia dei Filodrammatici in Milan and worked for several years at the Piccolo Teatro di Milano under Giorgio Strehler.
He is known for film roles including the Grand Hotel doorman in Life Is Beautiful (1997), Stefano Venuti in One Hundred Steps (2000), Angelo Carati in The Best of Youth (2003), for which he received the Nastro d'Argento for best supporting actor, Colonel La Blasca in 7 and 8 (2007), and Giovanni Falcone in Corleone (2007). He has also appeared in television series and provided Italian dubbing voices, including for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (2012) and Silver Linings Playbook (2012).
Tidona was the long-term partner of actress Carla Cassola until her death in 2022.
