Biography
Andrew Strong is an Irish singer and actor. Born on 14 November 1973 in Dublin, he is the son of musician and singing coach Rob Strong. He grew up in Omagh, County Tyrone, and later Blessington, County Wicklow.
Strong starred as Deco Cuffe in the 1991 film The Commitments, directed by Alan Parker and based on the novel by Roddy Doyle. He received a nomination for the BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for the performance, and the cast was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals. He has since released several albums and toured with artists including the Rolling Stones, Elton John, Prince, Lenny Kravitz and Bryan Adams.
