Biography
Andri Snær Magnason is an Icelandic writer and documentary filmmaker. Born on 14 July 1973 in Reykjavík, he studied Icelandic literature at the University of Iceland, completing a BA in 1997.
He has directed documentary films including Dreamland (2009), The Hero's Journey to the 3rd Pole (2020) and Apausalypse (2021). He appeared as himself in the 2010 documentary Inside Job. His books include the children's title The Story of the Blue Planet (1999) and the non-fiction work Dreamland (2006).
Magnason has received the Icelandic Literary Prize in multiple categories and other literary awards. His work often addresses environmental themes.
